  • It’s that time of year when the Windham Theatre Guild Broadway Chorus is gearing up for another terrific concert.  We’ll be singing some old standards and some of the newest music currently playing to sold out houses on Broadway.  We’ll be singing of ‘young lovers’ and ‘old lovers’, people and things that fly, kings and revolutionaries, tradition; and new ways of seeing things.  There will be solos and small group songs and beautiful ‘Editor’s Choice’ arrangements.  All of the songs are from Broadway shows that have won many awards including ‘Best Musical’, ‘Best Original Score’, ‘Best Revival’, and ‘Outstanding Musical’.  There is no doubt that this concert will delight both chorus members and audiences alike.

You can be a part of the great Broadway Chorus tradition at WTG.  There are no try-outs to become a member of our chorus.  All you need is the $35 fee for the music (which you keep), the desire to have a great time singing, and be at least 15 years of age.  We will follow all Covid regulations for our rehearsals and our performances.  The Director will be Larry Goodwin and Ken Clark will be the accompanist.  Rehearsals are on Tuesdays starting on January 10th from 7:00 to 9:00 at the St. Joseph Church Hall.  Our performances will be on April 28 & 29 at the Burton Leavitt Theatre. Come and join the fun.

  • The Windham Theatre Guild announces auditions for Agatha Christie’s "Murder on the Orient Express," adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig.
The auditions will take place on Monday and Tuesday, January 9th and 10th at the First Congregational Church in Willimantic, located at 199 Valley Street.
Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.

We are looking for five men and five women to be part of this wonderful show, which will be directed by Michael Young. Auditions will be cold reads from the script. Accents preferred but not required. The actress playing Ms. Hubbard may be asked to sing and dance.

    **Show dates are March 24, 25, 26, 30, 31, April 1 & 2, 2023**
