  • We are looking to fill the role of Ernestine in our upcoming production of Crumbs from the Table of Joy.  Auditions will be held on Saturday March 5th from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Burton Leavitt Theatre, 779 Main Street, Willimantic.

    Show Synopsis:
Grieving Godfrey Crump makes a life changing decision to move his two daughters, seventeen year old Ernestine and fifteen year old Ermine from Florida to Brooklyn, NY after the death of his wife. This move is prompted by his newly found meaning in religion.

Told through the eyes of Ernestine, we watch as she struggles to adapt to her new life in her new home during the Jim Crow era in the fifties, her father's obsession and unfounded devotion to his faith, the challenges of embracing different ways of viewing the world around her, and through it all, daring to want more for herself.

    Character description:

ERNESTINE CRUMP: Female, 17 (late teens-20's) African American, smart, self-aware, determined, romantic, daydreamer.

Rehearsals start in April, show dates are June 3rd-5th and 9th-12th
