SUMMARY:
Comedy/Drama

Nat Paradis is a Red Sox-loving dad who manages Paradis’ Last Convenient Store, the last place to get gas before the Canadian border. When an old flame returns to town, Nat gets a chance to rekindle a romance he gave up on years ago. But sparks fly as he’s forced to choose between new love and old. A hilarious and heartbreakingly hard look at love lost and found, and at what it means to “get back to happy."

ROLE(S): 6 Cast

Nat Paradis, (Supporting): Male, 34-64

Nat runs his father's gas station/convenience store in northern Maine. He is divorced and lives upstairs from the store with his father, Dwight.   His son, Troy also stays with them on occasion.  He is a slight, seemingly harmless man.  Nearly 41 but may be boyish. A charming loser, aka damaged goods. Good at seeming happy. Passionate Red Sox fan.

Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Guy Gagnon (Supporting): Male, 34-64

Nat’s best friend, a widower, stoic, steady, and wry, wants what’s best for Nat and believes they belong together. He is on the heavier side.  Guy’s patient, honest, and has a wonderful, effective, dead pan humor. He’s ready to poke a stick at life and take a chance. Avid Red Sox Fan

Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Troy Paradis (Supporting): Male, 16-29

Nat’s son, an athlete and scholar with a future, wants to study aeronautical engineering. He loves his father dearly and despite his positive outlook, he’s truly worried about his Dad.

Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Lurene (Supporting): Female, 34-64

Nat’s high school sweetheart. Left town for NYC to make something of herself. She had big dreams but is a temp in a Manhattan office building. She’s in town for her Mom’s memorial service. She talks a little faster than the rest of the folks in her old hometown, dresses a little slicker, and is discovering that it hurts to not fit in anymore.

Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Cherry Tracy (Supporting): Female, 35-49

Nat’s ex wife and Troy’s mother.  Cherry is a Forest Ranger.  She’s outgoing and takes command, a problem solver, and a protector, who is frustrated in Nat’s inability to take control of his life.  She’s a large personality, but a real one. She is a smart, ambitious, substantial woman

Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Dwight Paradis (Supporting): Male, 50-70

Nat's dad, larger-than-life kind of guy, rough around the edges, substantial, loves a good time.  A charming, affable guy who can be a bulldozer and can be a bit inflexible. He fancies himself a ladies’ man and pursues women too young for him with confidence.
